We are an audio storytelling platform built for African audiences. A place where voices carry worlds, where fiction and folklore live side by side with biography and true life and where every story is crafted to pull you in completely.

Whether you have five minutes on a bus in Lagos or an hour in a quiet room in Nairobi, Katakora is where you go to disappear into a story.

What We Do

Katakora is a home for audio stories; dramas, thrillers, folktales, comedies, and everything in between, produced and hosted for the ears. Not podcasts. Not audiobooks in the traditional sense. Stories: built for listening, shaped by African voices, and designed to feel cinematic.

We host original audio series across every genre: Adventure, Crime, Fantasy, Folklore, Horror, Romance, Sci-Fi, Thriller, and more, with new content added regularly by creators from across the continent.

Our Creators

Katakora is powered by storytellers.

We believe the best stories come from people who live them, inherit them, and reimagine them. That's why we've built a platform that puts creators first:

  • You keep your work. Creators retain full ownership of everything they publish on Katakora. We are a distribution channel, not a rights holder.
  • You earn from day one. Listeners can tip creators directly, with 80% going straight to the creator. As the platform grows, additional revenue streams; access passes and advertising are built in from the ground up.
  • You're free. Publishing on Katakora is non-exclusive. Publish anywhere else you want, whenever you want.

Our goal is simple: make it as easy as possible for gifted storytellers to reach an audience and get paid for their craft.

Katakora is a product of Skysill, a technology company building digital experiences rooted in African culture. We're based in Ibadan, Nigeria.

We're a small team with a deep conviction that African stories deserve world-class infrastructure, the kind of platform that lets a voice from Ibadan or Accra or Kampala reach the world on its own terms.
